Senior Software Tester

As a Senior Software Tester at PQA Ltd., you will be involved in many phases of the software lifecycle; working closely with the development team from concept to completion. As part of our team, you will be working on leading edge software development projects to provide our clients with innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
Work with customers on low to high complexity projects performing the following activities:
Development of test and data strategies by adhering to PQA and customer quality procedures
Participation in quality assurance reviews of functional specifications and design documents
Assessment of requirements for testability
Analyzing of testing metrics, allowing for solution-focused suggestions and new testing approaches
Evaluation of test results to determine compliance with test plans, established business processes and business requirements, as outlined by the customer
Leading customer discussions as part of the defect triage process
Leading customer discussions regarding the prioritization of testing activities
Participation in customer discussions regarding project status
Coach, review, mentor and train 2 – 3 more junior resources in work performed
Assist in managing work assignments of 2 – 3 more junior resources
Provide support to the sales team by aiding in the definition of customer-specific solutions for use in proposals, statements of work and so on
Qualifications
Post-Secondary Education in a related discipline
A professional certification in software testing
4 – 8 years of progressive experience as a Software Tester
Experience in manual functional testing, as well as 1 – 2 other specializations (automation, performance and so on)
Experience on low to high size / complexity testing projects:
Working directly with customers
Reviewing functional specifications and design documents
Preparing test strategies
Analyzing test metrics and evaluating test results
Using open source and commercial test management tolls
Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, as well as software testing fundamentals and best practices
Excellent data analysis and data verification abilities
A passion for quality assurance and testing
Inquisitive nature with a strong desire to understand the details of how things work
Detail oriented while working in a versatile environment
Flexible and self-motivated, with the ability to receive constructive feedback from all levels
Ability to multi-task (prioritize and execute) and work well under pressure to meet deadlines)
Superior analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to fully analyze problems and propose practical solutions
Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Excellent ability to navigate and work through challenges with a positive attitude
Ability to work well independently, as well as in a diverse team-oriented environment
Desire, interest and willingness to invest in learning new testing techniques and methods
