QA Lead
Appnovation is a Vancouver based interactive agency specializing in developing web sites and mobile applications using the Drupal, Alfresco and SproutCore technologies. Our Drupal devel-opment experience focuses on the development of corporate, community and E-Commerce web sites. Our Alfresco expertise focuses on the creation of content rich web sites with complex publishing controls. Our mobile development experience focuses on using SproutCore and Strobe technologies to deliver both native and HTML5 web applications to any mobile platform including iPad, iPhone, Blackberry and Android devices.
Reporting directly to the Practice Manager the QA Lead is responsible for providing QA strategy, governance and support for a portfolio of projects, enhancements and support initiatives. The role also involves leading, planning, coaching and managing the activities of a team of QA analysts. The QA Lead will work closely with the Project Management and Senior Lead Developers to ensure the product is meeting all quality standards.
Responsibilities
Work within an Agile and/or Waterfall environment to plan project or requirement documents to identify testing requirements.
Prepare / assist with preparation of all prescribed QA artefacts including, but not limited to, Master Test Strategy and Plan, Functional Test Plan, QA Acceptance Plan / signoff, defect tracking report.
Participation and / or review of documentation and / or test results in all QA test phases such as Requirements validation, Unit, Integration, Functional and Performance testing.
Develop the Test Case documents according to the Master Test Plan.
Perform QA test and support QA Analyst as required
Walkthrough the QA Test Cases and the QA Test Plan with the QA Team prior to execu-tion.
Provide estimates for QA work effort for various stages of Project Lifecycle.
Manage and mentor QA Analysts
Qualifications
Technical Qualifications:
Previous experience with software quality tools ( test case management, project plan-ning, automation)
Experience in: developing test plans, writing test scripts, developing use cases, imple-menting automated testing, supervising test team activities, and assisting business us-ers through User Acceptance Test processes.
Knowledge of the quality assurance discipline, the defect lifecycle management processes, and the software commonly used for test planning and defect tracking
Knowledge of Bug tools : Jira, Bugzilla etc.
Platforms used: Windows, Apple Macintosh
Scripting Languages: HTML, PHP, Java
Required Experience:
5-8+ years of testing experience
1+ years experience managing a team of QA Analysts
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent expe-rience
Formal software testing training or certification.
Experience with Performance Testing is required
Highly collaborative and dynamic
